Belinda Butler & the Goodthings

  BACKGROUND
Raised on a cattle station in North Queensland, Belinda has in so many ways been shaped by the landscape of her childhood, giving her an earthy appeal apparent in her performances and her ability to connect with her audience. Honest, sassy and slightly quirky, her songs are shaped by a seriously good voice that alternately shimmers and powers to the heart of things.

Belinda has performed at showcases and festivals both here and in North America, where she appeared at the Tommy Emmanuel Gibson Showcase in Nashville, The Sorrento Bluegrass Festival, and at The Karma Café, Calgary’s premier acoustic venue. She was also featured on Channel Nine’s Today Show.

Belinda recently showcased her latest material to a full house at the Clink Theatre, Port Douglas, North Queensland. Joining her on stage, was her exciting new band, 'The Goodthings'; Cornell “C” Williams (Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen) on bass/vocals and Braham Stevens (Short-cut to Mushrooms) on drums/percussion.

Winner of the ABC's Fresh Air initiative with the song ‘Microwave Oven’ (featured in the award winning short film ‘I’m So Obsessed With Sarah and She’s So Obsessed With Me’) from her self-titled EP, Belinda continues to build a devoted following and is set to fulfil the expectations of the numerous industry hotshots predicting a bright future for the singer/songwriter.
